Will lightning ports be replaced with USB-C in the new iPhones?

Details on Apple’s upcoming iPhones have leaked two days ago after a Japanese website released a video of 3D-printed prototypes. Among the assumptions based on the iPhone 13 and iPhone 12 models is the replacement of lightning ports with USB-C.

Will the lightning ports be replaced with USB-C chargers in the upcoming iPhones?

Jon Prosser disagrees with the idea that Apple will move to USB-C. According to Forbes, Prosser believes that Apple will make a completely port-less model that relies on wireless charging and a smart connector for connecting third-party accessories instead.

For those who don’t know Prosser yet, here’s what we know about him so far…

On March 16, he tweeted about the launch of Apple products which have not yet been announced.

The new iPad Pro and MacBook Air arrived three days later.

Later on, he casually dropped the release date of the iPhone 9 like it was nothing special.

Aside from leaking Apple news on Twitter from time to time, Prosser runs the Front Page Tech YouTube channel where he, of course, leaks more tech news.

So, what do you think? Should we believe the rumors or trust the ‘Apple Leaker’?

Would you prefer that Apple switches to USB-C charging or rely solely on wireless technology?
