The third sequel of “Deadpool” is currently in the works, but fans are worried about one thingโwill it be rated PG-13 now that they’re working with Disney? Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has previously confirmed that “Deadpool 3” will be R-rated and set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe continuity. Now, Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick hype the upcoming movie as they share an update in an interview with Den of Geek.
The two are thrilled about the Ryan Reynolds-starred franchise entering the Marvel fold. When asked about writing about the hero with a twisted sense of humor for the family-friendly entertainment company, Wernick strongly stated that โDeadpool is gonna be Deadpool.โ
Reese also said that fans should not be worried about it. โTheyโve been very supportive with regard to that. Now when it comes to a particular joke, if we cross a line, maybe weโll hear at some point, โMaybe not that joke.โ But I think theyโve been incredibly supportive of what weโre doing because obviously, we were doing it separate from them for a long time, and I think theyโve seen the success and theyโve had their own even greater success. So hopefully itโll be a marriage made in heaven. But weโve definitely got their support, and thatโs a great thing to feel,โ he added.
As expected, the “Deadpool 3” plot remains a secret as the writers declined to state any details. What we know so far though, is that they are working with director Shawn Levy, who previously directed Reynolds in “Free Guy” and “The Adam Project”.ย We recall that the first movie was directed by Tim Miller, while “Deadpool 2” was directed by David Leitch.
