If you’re a reader, you probably know about the Big Bad Wolf, the world’s biggest book sale that has traveled all over the world, visiting 37 cities in 15 countries. One of its stops is the Philippines and they have offered millions of books at huge discounts.

This year is an exciting time because the Big Bad Wolf is finally back to a physical space after going online due to the pandemic.

We went to the sale the day before opening and here’s what we saw:

The Big Bad Wolf is divided into three sections: children’s, non-fiction, and fiction. We focused on the fiction section and the selection this year is great. Some books are actually on our wishlist! In previous years, we went to the sale expecting to discover new reads from authors whose works we haven’t explored yet.

Some of the authors that stood out to us were Rick Riordan, Neil Gaiman, Paulo Coelho, Susan Sontag, Ray Bradbury, Stephen King, Suzanne Collins, Chuck Palahniuk, David Sedaris, Sayaka Murata, and more. The classics and comics are well-represented, with books by Jane Austen, H.G. Wells, and George Orwell, and graphic novels from Marvel.

Here’s our haul:

A highlight this year is the section on Filipino books. There are comics, novels, and children’s books from Adarna and Anino Comics. We highly recommend Mars, May Zombie!, a yassified apocalypse YA novel, and the graphic novels by Rob Cham. We hope Big Bad Wolf can expand the local selection in the coming years because we have a great collection of books.

There are no prices on the tags, only letters. These correspond to certain prices, which you’ll have to look at the boards scattered around the area. It’s advisable to take a photo so you can refer to it anytime. Here’s a photo below:
