WATCH: The Teaser for “Barbie” Starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling Is Here

Warner Bros. just dropped the first teaser trailer for “Barbie” starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling!

Directed by Greta Gerwig and co-written by her partner Noah Baumbach, the upcoming movie seems to have taken inspiration from the opening scene of Stanley Kubrick’s “2001: A Space Odyssey”. Narrated by Helen Mirren, the “Barbie” trailer begins with shots of a rocky savannah with little girls playing with baby dolls. “Since the beginning of time, since the first little girl ever existed, there have been… dolls,” she goes as Richard Strauss’ “Also Sprach Zarathustra” plays in the background.

Fast forward to the revelation of Margot Robbie dolled up in a ponytail and a black-and-white swimsuit just like the first-ever Barbie doll by Mattel in 1959!

There were also snippets of her in the Barbie world, with Ryan Gosling as Ken, and Simu Liu dancing in a crowd.

Set to premiere on July 2023, “Barbie” cast members also include America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Ariana Greenblatt, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Mackey, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Michael Cera, Rhea Perlman, Emerald Fennell, Ncuti Gatwa, Scott Evans, Connor Swindells, and Will Ferrell.
