WATCH: Original cast from hit musical ‘Hamilton’ reunite to perform together once again

It’s been a few years since the original Broadway cast of the widely popular “Hamilton” last performed together on the stage. But just last month, they came together again as the Hamilton creators were honored at the Kennedy Center Honors for their “lifetime contribution to American culture”. The musical, which tells the story of one of America’s founding fathers, was heralded as “a transformative work that defies category.”

As a tribute to the honorees, Thomas Kail, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Andy Blankenbuehler, and Alex Lacamoire, the original “Hamilton” cast took to the stage. Renée Elise Goldsberry, Phillipa Soo, and Jasmine Cephas Jones reprised their roles as the Schuyler sisters in the song of the same name. The video of the entire number has yet to be released, but you can watch the clip below for a preview of their performance:

Lin-Manuel Miranda himself reclaimed the role of Alexander Hamilton alongside stage partner Christopher Jackson as George Washington. Together, they gave an emotional performance of the number “One Last Time”. Thankfully, this performance does have a full-length recording.
