The cast of the movie Mean Girls reunited on October 3rd, which is known in pop culture as Mean Girls Day. This surprise happened 16 years after the movie premiered.
Katie Couric moderated the virtual reunion and the video was released on Instagram. Cast members Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert, Amanda Seyfried, Tina Fey, and more joined in.

The reunion was held as an effort to get fans to vote in the upcoming United States election, which will happen a month after.
During the reunion, the cast members reminisced about playing the movie’s iconic characters. Amanda Seyfried, who played Karen Smith, said that she was thrilled to play a “dumb blonde” role because it was similar to how she acted in high school to stay out of the drama.
