In 1998, we were introduced to Christina Aguilera, who performed the pop version of “Reflection” from the Disney film Mulan. It was released just a year before her debut album of the same name, and we witnessed the beginning of a pop career that would span decades. Now, 22 years later, Aguilera is back to sing a new rendition of the song for the live-action adaptation of the film.

Mulan is the latest Disney title that will be getting the live-action treatment. Unlike the original animated film that came out in 1998, this version will not feature the songs and will not include Captain Li Shang.
The film stars Liu Yifei in the title role and she is joined by Donnie Yen, Jason Scott Lee, Yoson An, Gong Li, and Jet Li.
It premiered in Hollywood in March but was delayed multiple times because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is scheduled for release on September 4 on Disney+.
