WANDERBAND: The Final Battle to Wanderland Music and Arts Festival 2014!
Witness pure local talent as Wanderband sets the stage for aspiring amateur indie bands, as a ‘battle of the bands’ competition that aims to usher in a new breed of Filipino musicians. Eight bands who prevailed two elimination rounds against several other contestants will be battling it out at the Wanderband Final Battle on January 24, Friday 6:30PM at the Glorietta 2 Activity Center. The emerging winner will claim the title “the Wanderband”, take home Php 50, 000 cash prize and perform at the Wanderland Music and Arts Festival 2014 as part of the official festival line up. The 2nd place winner will get to perform in Wanderland 2014 as well.
Noted personalities from the music industry including Kate Toralba, John Uy from Karpos Multimedia, Jeff Joson from Ivory Records, and Diego Mapa of Pedicab will be judging the hopefuls based on musicality, originality, stage presence, overall technique and audience impact. A special performance from local electronic music scene frontrunners Techy Romantics is something to look forward to as well.
The Wanderband Top 8 – Autotelic, Kian Ransom, Ourselves the Elves, Rambunctious X, Idioms and Dispositions, Naomi Aoki, Brisom and Chocolate Grass come from diverse music backgrounds and overlapping genres. As such, each of them offers a style that represents who they are as a group, which will certainly be interesting to hear when they perform live.
