Veteran Filipino actor Lito Legaspi has passed away on Sunday, September 8, at 10 AM after suffering a cardiac arrest at the Cardinal Santos Memorial Medical Center. He was 77 years old.

Lito, who is the father of Kier, Brando, Zoren, and Jupiter Legaspi and the estranged husband of Hershey Legaspi, starred in numerous television programs on GMA-7 and ABS-CBN. He began his acting career in 1959 and rose to fame as one of the matinee idols of now-defunct Sampaguita Pictures.
He was known best for his roles in Sinong kapiling? Sinong kasiping? (1977), Ilustrado (2014) and Haplos (2017).
His last TV appearance was in afternoon drama series My Special Tatay.
His wake will be held at the Loyola Memorial Funeral Homes in Marikina City.
He would have celebrated his 78th birthday this Tuesday, September 10.
