This newly opened Clark International Air Hub spans 30,000 square meters and replaces its predecessor, the UPS Clark hub, which opened in 2002. The new hub is larger, and includes additional machinery and equipment that specialize in handling up to 46,000 packages brought in and out of the air hub.

So, what service improvements can customers expect from the newly opened air hub? According to UPS, the expanded facility will improve service on more than 1,100 trade lanes worldwide, including routes to and from the Philippines. Customers can also expect faster shipment times, extended pickup cutoff times, and earlier deliveries across the Asia-Pacific region.

Another technological feature of the Clark air hub is an automated sorting system that uses smart technology to process up to 9,000 small packages per hour.

According to UPS, the company’s 2024 announcement to build a new Clark hub was part of its multi-year investment strategy to strengthen its Asia-Pacific network.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., who attended the grand opening of the Clark air hub, acknowledged that the new UPS hub will boost the Philippines’ logistics services, noting that the country’s transport and logistics sector still needs improvement.

He cited congested ports and inadequate road networks and ordered the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Department of Transportation (DOTr) to continue improving the country’s roads, bridges, and transport systems.
