The family of Ate Gay, whose real name is Gil Aducal Morales, disclosed that the comedian has been confined in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for almost a week.

In a Facebook post, the family appealed to netizens for Ate Gay’s ongoing medical needs. The comedian revealed in 2025 that he had stage 4 cancer and was undergoing radiation and chemotherapy.
“During this difficult time, our family is humbly reaching out to your kind hearts for any financial assistance to help support his ongoing medical needs. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has already extended their kindness and generosity,” the post read.
The family noted that no amount is “too small” and prayers and shares are enough support.
Earlier this month, the well-known impersonator held a “living funeral” at Forest Lake Memorial Parks in Biñan, Laguna. The event was attended by loved ones, comedians, and content creators, who delivered their eulogies in person.
