Like a robust catalyst, the University of the Philippines Academic League of Chemical Engineering Students, Inc. (UP ALCHEMES) has consistently propelled innovation and illuminated the excellence of young Filipino minds across the country through its flagship and premier research event, Research Fair.
Marking the momentous milestone of its 25th year, Research Fair 2026 presents “ATHANOR: Igniting the Youth to Blossom in Their Potential,” to be held on January 15–17, 2026, at the University of the Philippines Diliman.
For schools and students driven by a passion for scientific exploration and discovery, Research Fair 2026 offers three major sub-events: the National Science Conquest (NSC), Research Competition (RC), and Youth Science Convention (YSC). These events are designed to kindle curiosity, innovativeness, and competitiveness among students toward transformative progress in science and technology.
NSC provides an avenue for students to showcase their knowledge and take on challenges related to various fields of science and technology against fellow participants. Meanwhile, YSC aims to engage and inspire participants to find their niches in science and technology through educational sessions and laboratory visits. Integrated within the Case Study Competition of YSC is an online workshop designed to hone participants’ skills and expertise in developing case studies.
At the heart of Research Fair lies RC, which cultivates novel ideas and solutions through research projects developed and presented by students. These studies are defended before a panel of judges, with the most revolutionary work ultimately declared the winner.
