Twitter temporarily disables tweeting for verified accounts after massive hack

A number of verified Twitter accounts were unable to tweet after a massive hack by cryptocurrency scammers.

Some of the notable personalities whose accounts were hacked include Barack Obama, Bill Gates, Kanye West, and Elon Musk.

With this, Twitter temporarily disabled tweeting for verified accounts and blocked some password reset attempts. However, reports say that verified accounts were still able to retweet.

They addressed the situation and wrote, “We are aware of a security incident impacting accounts on Twitter. We are investigating and taking steps to fix it. We will update everyone shortly.”

A few hours after the incident, Twitter announced that most accounts should be able to tweet again.

They said, “As we continue working on a fix, this functionality may come and go. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.”
