With this, Twitter temporarily disabled tweeting for verified accounts and blocked some password reset attempts. However, reports say that verified accounts were still able to retweet.

They addressed the situation and wrote, “We are aware of a security incident impacting accounts on Twitter. We are investigating and taking steps to fix it. We will update everyone shortly.”

A few hours after the incident, Twitter announced that most accounts should be able to tweet again.

They said, “As we continue working on a fix, this functionality may come and go. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.”
