Ask any girl of the things that she finds romantic, among the answers for sure will be dinner by candle light and watching the sunset. These are the two things you’ll most definitely find at the Sunset Bar at Sofitel. When in Manila, and you’re looking to treat your special someone to a nice romantic dinner, look no further than the Sunset Bar at Sofitel. It is located at the pool area at Sofitel Philippine Plaza, a five star luxury hotel in Manila.
Just before dinner you can also enjoy the sunset while working up an appetite. Here’s one that I got to see for myself and it’s just breathtaking.
There’s no lack of ambiance at the Sunset Bar. The entire area is amiably lit by romantic lighting from the pool and each table is lit up by a votive candle.
You can start off your meal by having a salad. These are served at the salad bar where you can have the freedom to mix a salad of your own.
The salad bar is also where you can find some appetizers like these macaroni and shrimp dish. Guess which one I reached for first? The shrimp dish of course!
There’s also an assortment of freshly baked breads that you can choose from, this was my favorite. You can slather this with a generous serving of butter or with jam, your pick.
Food is served buffet style – be it pork, beef, fish or poultry…name it and there’s sure to be a dish there that you can eat. My advice though is to pace yourself. It’s very tempting to just pile on the food all at once on your plate
I made a bee-line for the Lechon. I couldn’t resist the call of the golden-brown crispy skin that was just calling to me. These are chopped fresh and served with very delicious gravy.
After a filling meal, leave room for dessert because once you swing by the dessert bar..it’s just too tempting not to get just one. Here take a look and tell these don’t make your mouths water.
If you feel that those are too indulgent for you or if you’re reasoning out that you’re watching that figure (even after a hefty meal :P), there’s also a fruit bar with fresh fruit slices that you can enjoy.
The Sunset Bar is not only open during the night, it’s open from 9am to 11pm daily which means you can eat a morning meal there too. Another thing that’s great about the Sunset Bar are the cultural shows and live bands who will entertain you during your meal. It just completes the whole dining experience.
