Tanghalang Batingaw, the Lyceum of the Philippines University-Manila’s official theater group would be having its upcoming Post- Anniversary show on September 19 and 20, with 4 short plays that  would coincide with the theme Transformance: Diversifying Arts.

As a part of this year’s celebration, we are inviting everyone to watch our Post-Anniv Show at the LPU Mini Theater. The shows on both days would start at 8:30 and 11:30 in the morning and 2:30 in the afternoon. The ticket price would be 75 pesos for individuals, but 60 pesos for a group of five people. This year’s Post-Anniversary show is headed by the Production Manager Kimberely Tonel, assisted by Arcellie Palencia. Below are the teasers for each play.

Nabubuhay tayo sa isang mundo kung saan maunlad na ang pamumuhay. Ngunit habang nagtatagal ay hindi na natin nailalayo ang sitwasyon ng isang normal na tao sa isang may kapansanan. At unti unti ay mas nagiging kapakipakinabang ang mga may hadlang kaysa sa wala. Bakit nga ba ganito na ang nangyayari? Sadyang bang pagkakataon lamang ito? O may mga bendang nakabalot sa atin na siyang humahadlang sa pagkilos natin para sa sarili?

Isusuko mo ba ang lahat dahil hindi pabor sa’yo ang kapalaran? O mas nanaisin mong lumaban dahil sa isang bagay na iyong pinahahalagahan? Ang kuwentong ito ay tungkol sa tibay ng pagkakaibigan hanggang sa kamatayan.

Tungkol sa mga taong naghahangad ng tunay na pag-ibig sa iba’t ibang paraan. Ang isa ay kusang naghahanap ng taong manahalin niya. Ang isa nama’y nagtitiyagang maghintay na dumating ang taong para sa kanya. Ang isa ay may lihim na pagtingin sa kanyang matalik na kaibigan. At ang isa ay hindi pa handang magseryoso pagdating sa pag-ibig. Magkakaiba man ang kanilang mga sitwasyon ay pare-parehas nilang mararanasang unibig ng totoo, maging masaya man o malungkot ang kanilang kahahantungan.

Nang mapunta sa langit sina Rizal at Bonifacio, binigyan sila ng pagkakataong humiling at ang napili nilang kahilingan ay muling mabalikan ang Pilipinas nilang Mahal sa kasalukuyan nitong kalagayan. Ano kaya ang kanilang masasabi sa kanilang masasaksihan?

About Tanghalang Batingaw

Tanghalang Batingaw started to plant the seeds of passion for theater in Lyceum of the Philippines University way back on 1976 during the period of cultural paucity on campus. Founded and established by Oliver Andrade Pandile, an alumnus of LPU-Manila after being a graduate of Psychology is a stage actor, and were glorified in the spotlight at a very young age. He founded “Tanghalang Batingaw” on August 7, 1976. Eight elite founders took the former name of “Batingaw Ensemble” dedicated on uplifting our cultural identity as its heritage.
