Since the start of the Metro Manila ECQ, my social media feed has been filled with glimpses of attempts to follow a recipe for home baked banana cake. Unfortunately, I either lack the ingredients to create the perfect banana cake, or I just purely suck at baking. Hence, I ended up reaching out to homegrown businesses to satisfy my sweet tooth cravings.
Fortunately, I stumbled across Tita Vic’s Banana Cake on Instagram. Since they are open for delivery within Metro Manila and I am all for supporting local homegrown businesses, I decided to get two loaves delivered (complying to proper safety protocols, of course).
Tita Vic’s Banana Cake started out from Marivic Villegas’ passion to create sweet treats for her family. Her banana cake, specifically, attracted a lot of compliments from her relatives when she started the tradition to give it out as annual Christmas presents. That inspired her to open Tita Vic’s Banana Cake, so that more people can taste her delicious and comforting treats.
Tita Vic personally makes each loaf with love and passion in the comfort of her home kitchen with nothing but fresh and high end ingredients to ensure the quality of each batch. You can even ask her to customize a loaf for you, depending on your personal preferences.
My personal favorite is the Banana Nutella with Chocolate Chips. I feel like each warm bite is a trip to memory lane. Its gooey and generous Nutella filling has a warmth to it, similar to the feeling of coming back home.
If you are longing for the comfort of sweet treats at home, check out Tita Vic’s Banana Cake and treat yourself and your family to a loaf (better yet, make it two). I promise you it will not disappoint!
