It’s no secret that we have no shortage of local talent in the country, but then there are performances that just take you away.
Popular talent show “Tawag ng Tanghalan” returned to the noontime program “It’s Showtime” yesterday, and it seems that the contest is already starting on a strong note after contender John Mark Saga from Luzon wowed the judges and audience with his rendition of Sam Smith’s “Lay Me Down”.
John, who is a music student at the University of Santo Tomas, ended the song to a standing ovation from the celebrity panel composed of Rey Valera, Jaya, Yeng Constantino, and Billy Crawford. He received a score of 98.6%, and was hailed as that day’s daily winner.
The Luzon winner is also a Youtube sensation, with his cover of Adele’s “All I Ask” reaching almost 3 million views as of today.
