This Legendary Noodle House in Binondo Has Been Serving Noodles Since 1950

Going on a food trip in Binondo is something everyone has to experience at least once in their lifetime. After all, Binondo is one of the oldest food destinations in the Philippines. In fact, people from all over the globe flock to Manila’s Chinatown to enjoy its famous delicacies.

One legendary restaurant you simply have to visit in Binondo is Ling Nam.

Ling Nam first opened its doors in the 1950s, serving beef wanton noodles and siopao to Filipinos after the Second World War. Tomas Fung, the founder of Ling Nam, wanted to share his love for Chinese food with the Filipinos, so he opened up one of the pioneer noodle shops in the city.

Many of Ling Nam’s regular customers have grown up with the homegrown restaurant in the past decades, with their love for Chinese food passing on for generations. From serving just two dishes from their kitchen, Ling Nam’s menu has since expanded to siomai, congee, and a wide variety of noodle soups.

It’s really not a surprise how far they’ve come since they always put a lot of heart and soul into the food that they serve. They even prepare their famous congee as early as 3 AM for it to be ready to be served for breakfast at 6 AM!

Their original beef wanton noodles are overloaded with savory beef, high-quality noodles, and delicious beef broth. Avid fans of Ling Nam just can’t get enough of this hot and tasty dish, especially since it still tastes the same as its original recipe from the 1950s. Plus, it’s known to be a must-visit food spot that’s reminiscent of Hong Kong noodle shops.

Ling Nam’s dumplings and siopao are massive and addicting too – filled with deliciously seasoned meat.

With dishes starting at only Php95, Ling Nam is the food spot for affordable, filling, and delicious Chinese delicacies. Their original branch is in Binondo, but you can also enjoy their delicious food at their multiple branches all over the country!

Visit Ling Nam at 616 T. Alonzo Street, Sta. Cruz, Manila City. They also have branches in Banawe, Quezon City; J. Abad Santos St., San Juan City; and Baguio City.
