This Behind-The-Scenes Video Of “Ang Larawan, The Movie” Will Have You Lining Up For It In Cinemas

It’s Christmas time yet again, and this means vacations, parties, traffic, and the annual Metro Manila Film Festival. While the film festival has had its fair share of controversies in the past years, it’s still apparent that local films being shown in cinemas on Christmas Day has become part of our culture.

Annually, the festival offers a wide variety of films that can cater to all audiences–films that everyone can love. But there are also films that stand out from the rest. For this year, I personally think that one of these is the musical film Ang Larawan, The Movie.

Ang Larawan, directed by Loy Arcenas, is based on the stage play of the same name which first premiered in 1997. This  musical play was in turn based on a 3-act play written by Nick Joaquin entitled, “A Portrait of the Artist as Filipino.”

There are many reasons why you should see Ang Larawan in theaters, but maybe this behind-the-scenes footage of the musical preparations for the film will be enough to convince you.

In this video posted on the official Facebook page of Ang Larawan, we’re shown Mr. Ryan Cayabyab and the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra, along with the all-star cast of the film, giving us a taste of what to expect in cinemas.

With such talented artists, Ang Larawan is definitely a must-see film this Christmas season. It’s currently showing in theaters so be sure to catch it with your friends and family.
