After touching the hearts of viewers in 2012, Wreck-It Ralph will finally have a sequel. And we have the title and release date for you!

The new movie will be called Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2, and will be screened on March 9, 2018.

The news was announced by Walt Disney Pictures at the recently-held CinemaCon, a trade show for the movie theater industry.

According to director Rich Moore, “To take these characters we love and have them enter the enormous world of the internet has given us so much to explore. Our production team has been hard at work designing a world that takes something we all think we know – the internet – but shows it in a whole new, imaginative way.

The sequel is set six years after the first film, and will follow Ralph as he explores the internet after a Wi-Fi router is connected to his arcade game. The film will also tackle the developing friendship between Ralph and Vanellope von Schweetz, a racecar from the game Suga Rush.

John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer, and Jane Lynch will reprise their roles as Ralph, Vanellope, Fix-It Felix, and Sergeant Calhoun.

The first Wreck-It Ralph was met with commercial and critical success, receiving nominations for Best Animated Feature Film at both the Golden Globes and the Academy Awards. Rotten Tomatoes says that it is “Equally entertaining for both kids and parents old enough to catch the references, Wreck-It Ralph is a clever, colorful adventure built on familiar themes and joyful nostalgia.”
