The InBESTigators on Netflix: 4 Reasons Why It’s the Best Show for Kids

I am a mom of an adventurous 8-year-old and a curious 5-year-old. Is it just me? I am having a hard time finding shows that are not only entertaining but also offer meaningful lessons. I remember watching Batibot and Sesame Street when I was younger. They never used teasing as a form of humor, and it should not be normalized. It’s so hard to find shows like that nowadays—especially when they are not toddlers anymore.

Sadly, a lot of shows have really bad humor and language for young kids. Imagine my joy when I stumbled upon The InBESTigators on Netflix! It is ah-may-zing! My kids and I have fallen head over heels for this show, and I just couldn’t wait to share why it’s become our favorite—watching the episodes over and over again.

The InBESTigators revolves around a group of clever 10 and 11-year-old kids solving cases in their neighborhood, but what sets it apart is how it teaches invaluable life lessons with humor and heart. Here are just a few reasons why we love it so much:

Promotes Good Manners and Empathy

The characters in The InBESTigators (Maudie, Kyle, Ava, and Ezra) consistently show kindness, respect, and empathy especially when faced with challenging situations. Watching them navigate difficult moments, like apologizing when you’ve done wrong or helping a friend in need, is truly inspiring. My kids are picking up on these positive behaviors. They learn how to be better friends and good citizens through these examples.

Teaches Accountability and Responsibility

One of my favorite aspects of the show is how it highlights the importance of owning up to your mistakes. It also shows that it’s okay to make mistakes as long as you learn from them. It doesn’t stop there—what are you supposed to do after? You apologize, take responsibility, accept & face the natural consequences of your actions. It’s such a great example for all children to see.

Clean and Appropriate Language

As a parent, I deeply appreciate the wholesome language used throughout the show. There’s no cursing, no rude heckling—just smart, age-appropriate dialogue. I also love how they sometimes teach certain topics like the plural form of an octopus or cactus, and make it funny in certain ways possible. You have to watch it to understand what I mean. The show even points out how certain comments can be hurtful, teaching the kids the importance of thinking before they speak.

Hilarious and Engaging

Even with all the valuable lessons in each episode, The InBESTigators manages to stay light and entertaining. It’s genuinely hilarious! It’s also fun to try solving the cases ourselves and see which of us can figure it out first.

The InBESTigator has become a bonding activity we all look forward to every Friday afternoon. The mix of mystery, humor, and valuable life lessons makes the show something I (highly) recommend to any family.

If you’re looking for a new series to watch with the kids, The InBESTigators is a must! And, like us, you’ll probably find yourselves hooked! I wish they produce more shows like The InBESTigators.
