The Happy Barn Milkshake Factory’s Delicious Shakes

Salted Caramel Pretzel Surprise (P 120)

The first shake we had for the day was the Salted Caramel Pretzel Surprise. I was honestly not expecting much from this shake as I am not a fan of salted caramel. I only tried salted caramel once and hated it forever. I just didn’t found the mixture of salt and sugar on a dessert weird. The Happy Barn Milkshake however changed the way I view salted caramel. After trying this milkshake, I just knew I had to have more! Happy Barn’s Salted Caramel Pretzel Surprise was sweet with a hint of vanilla. As you drink the shake, you will also taste bits and pieces of the pretzel which perfectly compliments the vanilla. It adds a mushy (but not unpleasant) texture to the milkshake. This shake was  one of the group’s favorite. Some rated it a 4/5 stars while others gave it a perfect 5.

Spectacular Cookie Butter Milkshake (P 180)

The Spectacular Cookie Butter Milkshake uses today’s favorite spread, Speculoos Cookie Butter! This shake was another group favorite that morning. It was sweet with an almost buttery flavor. The cookie butter flavor is something most of us felt difficult to resist. So to those watching their diet, you might not want to try this ‘coz you’ll surely get hooked! The crunchy texture of the Spectacular Cookie Butter Milkshake was also a plus for us. Similar to the Salted Caramel Pretzel Surprise, our group rated the this shake 4 to 5 out of 5 stars. FYI, this item is currently an off-the-menu item. You have to request for it if you want it.

Nutty Monkey Delight (P 120)

The Nutty Monkey Delight was a mix of fresh bananas, vanilla ice cream and everyone’s favorite… NUTELLA. This shake made co-writer Ivica Say go gaga! The combination of Nutella and bananas is just something she couldn’t resist. The Nutty Monkey Delight had a strong banana scent but a very light creamy taste in the mouth. There were a few bits and pieces of bananas which also added to the texture of the shake. The shake overall was very creamy and chocolatey, a perfect combination. Others found the Nutty Monkey Delight to be okay (as they preferred a different flavor to this), while half the group thought this was a keeper.

Happy Monkey Overload (P 120)

The Happy Monkey Overload is a mix of Oreo, banana and caramel. If you enjoyed the Nutty Monkey Delight, then you’ll surely enjoy this one too! The Happy Monkey Overload however is much sweeter than the previous shake. So if you have a sweet tooth, then I suggest you pick this, if not, then go with the Nutty Monkey Delight. Being the sweet addict I am, the Happy Monkey Overload became my milkshake choice for the morning. The shake was really “full” and heavy with bananas while the Oreo adds a lot of sweetness to the shake. We gave it a 4 out of 5.

Honey Sweet Corn Treat (P 95)

If you’re a fan of Mais Con Hielo, then you’ll probably enjoy the Honey Sweet Corn Treat. It’s basically a Mais Con Hielo milkshake! The only difference is that the corn used here is already crushed and has been blended in with the milkshake. The Honey Sweet Corn Treat was mildly sweet and very creamy. According to Jason, it was the best medley of milky sweetness and texture for his morning. It was also his choice for a hot afternoon shake.

Black Forest Bliss (P 120)

To make the long story short, Black Forest Bliss is basically a Black Forest Cake turned milkshake! I’m not too big a fan of the black forest cake but the Black Forest Bliss tasted remarkably similar to the cake. I especially liked the bits of chocolate sprinkles and pieces in the shake. Kids will surely love this one. Moreover, there’s a cherry on top (besides the crushed cherries already in the shake) to make the Black Forest Bliss look even better.

Uber Yummy Yam (P 85)

Every Christmas, my fiance brings home this huge jar of Ube Halaya which we finish in just a week. I used to think yam was just boring until I tasted that. I’m still not a fan of ube, but I find Ube Halaya to be addicting. It’s one of those desserts where I keep saying “one last bite!” The Happy Barn Milkshake Factory’s Uber Yummy Yam makes me feel exactly the same way. The mix of milk and ube was just right that it complimented each other. The milk, just like in Ube Halaya, makes the yam taste less bland and boring. This was Philippe’s favorite that morning. If he wasn’t stuffed from all the tasting, he probably would’ve had more.

Nuts for Choc-Nut (P 85)

This was one of co-writer Jason Cruz’s favorite shakes that morning. He is a choc-nut addict and this just made his addiction worse. (haha) Nuts for Choc-nut carried the delicious scent of choc-nut within. Even before you taste it, you could already smell the sweet scent of choc-nut. Who would’ve thought choc-nut in a milkshake would taste this good?

The Happy Barn Milkshake Factory Eggettes

Besides their famous milkshakes, The Happy Barn Milkshake Factory also sells eggettes. They’re the only place that sells this so you better make sure to order those eggettes to compliment your milkshake. I’m not really sure where eggette originated from, but it’s a popular street food in Hong Kong. Eggettes are made from sweet batter and are basically similar to a pancake/ waffle. Those circular things are what make the eggette special. You can taste the soft batter more through that.

The Happy Barn Milkshake Factory has 3 kinds of eggettes – they have the plain eggette, eggette with hotdogs, and eggette with floss. I liked the eggette with floss but I felt the plain eggette or eggette with hotdogs complimented my milkshakes more. Eitherway, you can’t leave the Happy Barn Milkshake Factory without trying one of these.

I had a wonderful time at The Happy Barn Milkshake Factory! It’s been a while since I last had a milkshake or saw a place that actually sells them. It’s something new and definitely worth trying… (and going back to!) The Happy Barn Milkshake Factory has sooooooo many flavors to choose from, what I shared above is only some of it. It was so hard to pick a favorite as all of their milkshakes tasted really good and had their own unique flavor to get us hooked.
