In a statement shared by his family on social media, Kevin is currently under critical medical care and is slowly recovering, but the medical expenses have started to pile up. His loved ones are now asking for help from the community to support his ongoing treatment.

“We’re calling for donations to help cover the costs of medical treatment, lab tests, and medicines,” the family wrote. “Your generosity and prayers are deeply appreciated. Maraming salamat!”

For those unfamiliar, a transient ischemic attack—often called a ministroke—causes stroke-like symptoms for a short period due to a brief blockage of blood flow to the brain. While it usually doesn’t cause lasting damage, doctors warn that it can serve as a major warning sign for a future stroke.

Kevin, whose sharp wit and fearless commentary have resonated deeply with many Filipinos online, rose to prominence through his satirical illustrations that often highlight social and political issues. His most iconic piece, Tumindig, became a symbol of courage and solidarity during a time when many Filipinos were afraid to speak up.

Now, the community that Kevin has inspired for years has a chance to give back.

Wishing Kevin a safe and speedy recovery.
