Ube is not really an exotic ingredient in the Philippines. In fact, ube recipes and trends have been surfacing on the Internet for quite a while now – from dishes to desserts – and everyone’s going crazy about them. Thanks to ube, everything has purple in it; and restaurants and food business owners are always coming up with creative ways to incorporate the delicious root crop into their creations. 

While blueberry and strawberry are more common cheesecake flavors, Made and Baked PH took the opportunity to create a Basque Burnt Ube Halaya Cheesecake. What I love about this is that you can definitely taste the ube halaya, and the cheesecake recipe has the right balance of creaminess. It’s not too sweet, either. You can tell that it’s really made with fresh ingredients, and they can deliver it straight to your doorstep!
