When one says Baguio the first thing that usually comes to mind is strawberries. Well, there are other treats that everyone loves and which have now reached the Metro: Baguio Country Club’s Raisin Bread and Banana Bread.
These two popular bread can now be purchased in Metro Manila! I personally hadn’t tried them before; but after tasting them, I get why they’re so popular and sought after.
Baguio Country Club’s Raisin Bread is a filling and delicious treat! This compact swirl bread is filled with lots of juicy raisins!
If you’re not a fan of raisins because of the weird champoy-ish aftertaste, I can assure you that Baguio Country Club’s Raisin Bread does not have any. Despite the compact texture, it is really easy to bite into. The Raisin Bread has hints of cinnamon in each swirl and it will remind you of cinnamon buns sans the cream cheese on top.
My personal favorite of the two is the Banana Bread. Just one bite and you can easily tell that the ripest and sweetest bananas were used to make this hearty treat. The texture is reminiscent of a pound cake.
Their Banana Bread is exceptionally moist and dense, but does not give you any “umay” feeling, leaving you wanting more. What I really love about their Banana Bread is that it doesn’t have the usual floury taste that most banana cakes have.
Trust me: one loaf won’t be enough, so I recommend getting at least two of each. If you haven’t tried Baguio Country Club’s Raisin Bread & Banana Bread yet, now is the time to order. I assure you that they will not disappoint!
