Calling all high school students!
Tagisan, the UP Broadcasters’ Guild annual Philippine Media Workshop and Quiz Bee, is back this November to bring you an alternative media experience.
“Tagisan 2018: Philippine Media Workshop and Quiz Bee on Alternative Media” is a whole day event that aims to educate students about the important role of media in our society and teach them the skills needed for a career in the media industry.
This year, Tagisan 2018 will be specifically anchored on alternative media — its history and present role in the Philippine society.
Workshops will be conducted in the morning before the Quiz Bee proper to be attended by all high school student participants and their corresponding advisers. The topics of the workshops include a lecture on alternative cinema, alternative journalism and community radio broadcasting. Aside from this, a special lecture on the history of alternative media in the Philippines focusing on the emergence of mosquito press during the Martial Law period will be given to the participants.
A lot of learning awaits so don’t miss out on this opportunity! Create a team from your school and register here: bit.ly/TAGISAN2018Registration before it’s too late. Deadline of registration is on October 31, 2018.
