Sylvia Sanchez took to social media to express her joy and gratitude for the good weather during her son Arjo Atayde and Maine Mendoza’s wedding on July 28 in Baguio. In an Instagram post, she shared a video clip of the wedding venue, where some of the guests, including Ryzza Mae Dizon and Miles Ocampo, were seen waiting for the ceremony to start.
The actress revealed that she was monitoring the weather before the wedding as Typhoon Egay continued to bring heavy rain. “July 26, 2023 ang lakas ng bagyo pero hindi ako kabado. July 27, 2023 ang lakas pa din ng ulan pero hindi pa din ako kabado,” she captioned.

She also shared a short conversation with Mendoza, assuring her that the weather will be okay on the wedding day. She continued, “July 27, tinext ko si Maine. ‘Love you Maine,’ ‘Love you tita, sana po maging ok lahat tomorrow,’ ‘Magiging ok yan Maine.’ Ang dami daming nagdadasal.”

Sanchez emphasized how powerful prayers were and thanked the Lord for the good weather, “For the nth time pinatunayan ng DIYOS na sya ang DIYOS na makapangyarihan sa lahat, mapagmahal at walang imposible sa KANYA. July 28,2023. Mismong araw ng kasal nina ARJO at MAINE. Heto po ang panahon. Maraming, maraming, maraming salamat po, PANGINOONG JESUS. Matthew 8:23-27.” [sic].

Based on the video, the weather in Baguio during Atayde and Mendoza’s wedding was a bit foggy yet sunny. Sanchez concluded, “Naniniwala akong mas malakas ang DIYOS ko kesa sa Bagyo, mas malakas SIYA kaninuman!!!” [sic]. In the comments, she also thanked everyone who prayed and stressed that nothing beats prayer.
