#Surfvivor: 5 Things to do When In San Juan, La Union

3. Have Snacks and Shakes at Sandbar

We love this place! It’s owned by a generous and friendly Italian man and his wife who personally serves his customers, sometimes gives free beer and talks to them regularly. The place was really stoked out a few years back but when I went it was right after a typhoon and the place got really affected but still there were a lot of regular customers because of the very accommodating and friendly staff.

They also have a gorgeous view. It’s nice to people watch and watch the surfers getting in on the waves. Try their tapa for Php 99.00, Php 60.00 Frappe and affordable pizza. This place is a steal! Don’t forget to tip and say hi to the owners.

2. Have Dessert at Coast Call, San Juan Surf Resort

Coast Call is a good place to bring your families. I love the no-arte vibe of La Union. Just to sip your morning coffee by the beach, how the best places are usually the Php 50.00 “carinderias” by the shore. That’s why I was surprised that San Juan Surf Resort already had Coast Call. It’s one of those developed places but don’t worry, they are not here to take advantage of travelers. They are not overpricing their food or even rooms (which I loved!) They are here to give you your money’s worth.

They have a nice view of the ocean as well
