Looking to live a greener lifestyle? You can do that now even with your choice of eyewear. Sunnies Studios has launched its first collection of sunglasses responsibly made with biodegradable acetate or recycled polyester. The new collection consists of different styles to suit different tastes — offbeat classics for the summer you’ve been waiting for.
To help the environment, Sunnies Studios has pledged to utilize reusable, recyclable, and biodegradable materials where they can. By introducing biodegradable acetate, a plant-based plastic, and recycled polyester into the making of eyewear, they aim to gradually phase out the use of virgin plastic.
This change means:
• Less fossil-based materials
• Minimized carbon footprint
• Reduced plastic waste
• Quality products
Check out the collection:

Biodegradable acetate is made when natural materials are turned into usable acetate through organic plasticizers. With reduced fossil carbon content, this material returns to the earth clean. The biodegradable acetate frames are available in Alba in Bone, Bobbi in Classic Tort, Rio in Dark Wheat, and Wolf in Black.
Recycled polyester helps keep existing plastics in the circular economy to minimize carbon emissions. It’s BPA-free and made from 100% recycled materials. The recycled polyester frames are available in Alba in Ink and Cantaloupe, Bobbi in Ink and Taupe, Rio in Truffle and Ink, and Wolf in Taupe and Cantaloupe.
As of today, 77% of their new developments are already made from responsible materials. Sunnies Studios has also committed to a partnership with 1% for the Planet, an international organization that empowers companies and individuals to give back to resources taken from the environment. 1% of all sales across Sunnies Inc. goes directly to projects and organizations that actively contribute to the planet.
