LOOK: The Steakhouse That Only Serves USDA Prime Black Angus and Angus Beef

Wolfgang’s Steakhouse currently has 19 locations worldwide, including 2 locations here in the Philippines: one in Resorts World Manila, and one in The Podium, Ortigas (soon, there will be one in BGC, too!). We visited their location at The Podium, which can seat 80 guests.

What makes them special is the core of it all: the meat they use for their steak. All locations exclusively serve USDA Prime Black Angus or Angus Beef. Only 2% of the beef in the US market attain USDA Prime rating. They fly in the meat weekly and dry-age premise for an average of 28 days to enhance the tenderness and flavor of the beef.

We tried the two best-selling lunch sets on their menu: Taste of New York and Wolfgang Experience. Here’s our take for each lunch set:

Taste of New York

USDA Prime Dry-Aged Sirloin Steak

This set comes with 400g USDA Prime Dry-Aged Sirloin Steak, Mashed Potatoes, Creamed Spinach, and New York-Style Cheesecake. After tasting this, there was no wonder in my mind as to why Wolfgang’s Steakhouse’s reputation is renowned for how they serve steak; it’s really good!

The Wolfgang Experience

If you’re going for the first time to Wolfgang’s Steakhouse, we highly recommend starting with this lunch set, Wolfgang Experience.

Seafood Taster

First, they served us our appetizer. We got the Seafood Taster, which included Tuna Tartar, Lobster Salad, and Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail. It teased my tongue and the flavors of the lobster salad got me really excited for the steak.

Caesar Salad with Sizzling Canadian Bacon

Next up, we had a choice of getting soup or salad. With this set, you have three options: Beverly Hills Chopped Salad, Caesar Salad with Sizzling Canadian Bacon, or their Soup of the Day. For our meal, we decided to go with the soup of the day, which happened to be their hearty Beef Barley.

And when the star of the show arrived, it was hard not to be amazed. Just take a look at this entrée, a mouthwatering 600g USDA Prime Dry-Aged Rib Eye Steak served with Mashed Potatoes and Creamed Spinach for the sides.

Key Lime Pie

The dessert of the day? Key Lime Pie with an enormous serving of schlag (Austrian German whipped cream) on the side. This key lime pie is the best of its kind. Its tangy, moderate sweetness will make you ask for more.

Their menu also consists of ala carte dishes from salads to soups and seafood, pasta to poultry if you’d like something other than steak. A wide array of wine choices is also present to complement your meals.
