Spend Great Mornings at Sentro 1771!

According to John Gunther, “All happiness depends on a leisurely breakfast” and I couldn’t agree any less.

When In Manila, one of my duties that I am more than happy to oblige to is to look for new food and places you can try. 🙂

I am the kind of person who cannot live without breakfast, I’ll get cranky by mid-morning if don’t get my daily morning fix. And with that, I am always on the constant lookout for places that serves good breakfasts. Nothing beats having it at home but it also isn’t bad to go out once in a while and have yourself a leisurely breakfast at a very nice setting — and so I introduce you to one of my favorites…

Sentro 1771!

Located at Serendra and also has a branch in Greenbelt, Sentro is under the Chateau 1771 group of restaurants and serves Modern Filipino Cuisine.

I’ve been a fan of Sentro since I’ve discovered their Sinigang na Corned Beef and Sizzling Tofu and I always keep coming back for it, you must try it too! And lately, I’ve discovered that they have breakfast choices too!

Sentro has a very cozy ambiance that will make you feel right at home when you dine in.

You can choose to dine al fresco with this as a view. Serendra is surprisingly very serene in the morning and it is perfect to sit outside Sentro while having a cup of hot drink and a hearty breakfast.

Start your morning with a cup of coffee, tea or Sentro’s Hot Chocolate. This is not your typical commercial hot chocolate because it has that rich dark chocolate flavor. I think they may have used tablea for it and added milk.

Sweet and creamy hot chocolate! Hmm~ just the thought of it makes it so comforting. A perfect company while enjoying a serene morning in Serendra.

Pan de Sal Sandwich (Php210) – Whole wheat pandesal filled with Adobo Flakes and/or Ginisang Corned Beef. You might think this is a very light start for breakfast but no, the pandesal is actually very filling (read: big pandesal) to the stomach and really good too! This can actually last you until lunch but if you’re someone like me who can’t live without rice, our next meal would be perfect for you!

Kusinero Fried Rice (Php250) – Rice sauteed with tuyo flakes, lots of garlic and topped with fried egg

This is one of Sentro’s breakfast bestsellers! And the moment I tasted it, I didn’t wonder further why. We Filipinos love our tuyo for breakfast (or any other time of the day) and Sentro’s Kusinero Fried Rice just perfected it.

The Kusinero Fried Rice is a must-try when you visit Sentro!

After getting a taste of a modern Filipino breakfast, I had a western one too! And this one’s not for the faint hearted!!

I present to you, Sentro’s Hole in One!

I thought of golf when I heard its name and wow, Hole in One (Php280) got me right on the spot with one try!

French toast with a hole in the middle and a fried egg cooked in it! Topped with crispy bacon and served with pork and beans. Epic proportions of delicious-ness!

Crispy bacon strips enveloping a french toast with ? It’s impossible to say no to this!! It had me at BACON.

You can also dine inside Sentro with their very modern yet also very Filipino interiors. I love how they have large panel windows with the sunshine flooding in while you dine. 🙂
