You’d think the chairman and CEO of one of the country’s biggest corporations would be chauffeured around in fancy cars, but Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala II is not like most business tycoons. In a photo spreading online, the chairman and CEO of Ayala Corporation was seen riding the LRT.
According to reports by ABS-CBN, Zobel de Ayala took the train at 6AM today for an orientation tour of the interconnection of the mass railway system. He also checked the beep cards of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line 1.
The photo was shared on Facebook by Jacque Manabat, a journalist from ABS-CBN News. Since posting, netizens have wondered what Zobel de Ayala was doing. Some also commented on his simple lifestyle. One said, “He is known to drive himself to many board meetings, unlike executives of some other telcos who move around complete with drivers, bodyguards, and all the trappings.”
The Ayala Group is a partner of Metro Pacific Investments Corp., the private concessionaire for the beep card. The group is also in charge of the operations and maintenance of the LRT-1.
The photo was taken by Owen Madlangsakay.

may Pinoy ba sa Picture na one?. parang nasa ibang bansa eh..
In one instance, I saw him walking along Ayala & Valero St. With his brother without bodyguards at all….
Based sa article he was checking the beep cards and the interconnection of mass railway system since partner sila sa pgmmay-ari nito. Sana mapansin nya kalagayan ng mga LRT1 terminals na sobrang napag-iwanan na
Sumasabay rin sya sa mga empleyado ng BPI when riding the elevator. Simple rin magbihis naka barong at black pants lang.
Wow. Oh wait, so?
