‘Into the Spider-Verse’ Director is Making a Live-Action Adaptation of This Popular Anime

This is one crossover we never expected, but one we can’t help but be curious about. Amazon is planning to create a live-action series of the popular manga, “A Promised Neverland,” in the English language.

The project is said to be helmed by Meghan Malloy, who will write the script, and Rodney Rothman, who will direct and act as the executive producer. And if you didn’t know, both of them worked on the globally-acclaimed animated film “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” (2018), which means we’ve got high expectations about this live-action series!

No other details have been revealed, but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for future announcements.

“A Promised Neverland” follows a group of orphans who stage a grand escape from their home after discovering what really happens to their friends after they are “adopted.” The manga premiered in 2016 and is about to publish its final chapter next week. An animated series also aired in 2019 and can be watched on Netflix.
