Good news: solo parents can avail themselves of free rides on Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT-3) this month.

In honor of Solo Parents Week, MRT’s official Facebook page announced that solo parents can avail free rides on specific time frames starting Wednesday, April 15, until Saturday, April 18, 2026:
“Ang inisyatibong ito ay alinsunod sa Republic Act No. 11861 o ang Expanded Solo Parents Welfare Act, na layong kilalanin at suportahan ang mahalagang papel ng mga solo parent sa ating lipunan,” MRT-3 captioned its post.
It added: “Isang maliit na hakbang ng pasasalamat para sa inyong walang kapantay na sakripisyo at pagmamahal.”
Here’s when you can avail the free rides:
- 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM
- 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
To avail, eligible passengers must present their valid Solo Parent ID at any MRT-3 station.
