There are two types of people in the world: those who love and thrive in challenges and those who don’t. For those who do, ladies and gentlemen, a new challenge awaits you.
Introducing: The “Snaps Giant Burger“!
The brainchild of Chef Bettina Arguelles, Sofitel Manila‘s Restaurant Operations Chef, the Snaps Giant Burger (from here on, “The Burger”) is a fitting addition to the awesome arsenal of Sofitel’s Snaps Sports Bar.
The 24-hour sports lounge is the place-to-be not just for the hotel’s guests, but for anyone who just wants to relax and unwind while chugging on some drinks or watch a certain sporting event or finals game on their numerous big screen LCD TVs.
They also have a collection of framed sports jerseys of some legendary athletes, i.e. Bryant, Messi, Manning, Rose, Pippen, etc.
There’s also a tournament-size foosball table, a billiard table, and a mini-golf strip for putting for impromptu games between friends.
But enough about the bar! Let’s talk burger!
If the first picture above didn’t quite help you realize how big The Burger actually is, here are its vital statistics:
4 inches tall
10 inches in diameter
3 pounds (1.36 kilograms) of ground US tenderloin beef patty
200 grams of cheddar cheese
Approximate total burger weight: 2 KILOGRAMS
The great thing about it is that, despite its size, there’s nothing very “fast food” about it: everything’s made to order. All the parts of the burger are made in-house, from the sesame buns to the greaseless tenderloin beef patty. The Burger is proof that quantity and quality don’t have to be opposing forces in the food industry.
If you still can’t imagine how gigantic it really is, here’s a snapshot of The Burger beside my hand for your comparison. Mind you, I can fit a whole Big Mac in my hand without any trouble at all.
Now, slowly, let all of its massive, mouthwatering glory sink in.
But wait, there’s more!
Finish The Burger in 15 minutes or less and you get it FREE OF CHARGE. Think about: you could actually have this masterpiece for free, if only you could stuff all of it into your belly within 15 minutes.
THIS is what friends are for!
Here’s a disclaimer, though: NO ONE, not one human being, has beaten the challenge yet.
On the upside, YOU could be the first one to have a claim to the bragging rights as the one who finally beat Snaps Sports Bar’s “Snaps Giant Burger“. Not to mention you’ll get a free meal (or 2, since you won’t be eating for 10 hours).
So, don’t forget to put this challenge on your bucket list, even if it’s the last thing you’re gonna achieve.
