Christmas, the holiday season filled with Jose Mari Chan crooning through the mall speakers, ubiquitous puto bumbong and bibingka stalls, and the intense anxiety to find the perfect gifts for the people we love. As people get lost in the flurry of things to do and things to buy, we become too busy to appreciate the true spirit of Christmas: GIVING.

In an effort to bring hope to the lives of Filipino families, the IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) and integrated marketing communications firm TeamAsia initiated My Dream in a Shoebox–an annual gift giving program that aims to equip underprivileged children with the tools they need to pursue education.

Here are seven simple things you can give to change a life this Christmas:

7. Paper

Give two notebooks and one pad paper to give young dreamers a blank slate–a new opportunity to start a future filled with hope

6. Writing tools

Give two pens and two pencils to give them the tools they need to start writing their promising future

5. Crayons

Give crayons to help them bring life and color to their dreams

4. Eraser

Give them an eraser to remind them of second chances

3. Ruler

Give them a ruler to remind them to pursue their dreams on a straight path

2. Glue

Give them glue to remind them of the importance of sticking to the company of their family and friends as they work hard for their dreams

1. Surprise

Give them something surprising–a small token that will bring them joy and motivation to turn their dreams to reality

As simple as these may be, they can make a huge impact in the life of a child this Christmas. Often, what hinders them from continuing education is the lack of school supplies. Through this gift, you can give them a brand new start in life.

Fill shoeboxes with school supplies and donate today to help give them a brighter tomorrow. Together, we can make #BiggerDreams come true. For more details, email shoebox@teamasia.com or visit www.teamasia.com/shoeboxcampaign.
