Are Selena Gomez and Zayn Malik dating?
The two have sparked rumors that they’re an item after they were spotted having dinner together in New York City last week. A report by Entertainment Tonight alleged that Selena and Zayn were seen “holding hands” and “kissing” and that “it was clear that it was a date.”
“Selena and Zayn went out in SoHo in New York City last night at around 10:30 pm. They walked in holding hands and were kissing. Most restaurant staff and restaurant goers didn’t notice them. It seemed like they were comfortable together and it was clear that it was a date,” an unnamed source told ET.
A Tiktok user also shared a text exchange she had with a friend who claimed to be the pair’s hostess that night where they dined and said “Tell me how Selena Gomez and Zayn just walked into [restaurant] hand in hand making out and I seated them.”
Though the two have yet to come forward with the status of their relationship, it seems that Zayn’s ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid had a few things to say about it.
A source told Us Weekly that the model, whom Zayn shares a two-year-old child with, had no issues with Zayn dating someone new and only wishes for him to be “happy and stable.”
“Gigi has no problem whatsoever with Zayn dating,” the source said. “As long as he is happy and stable and continues to be a good co-parent to Khai, she’s fine with whoever he goes out with.”
Zayn and Gigi dated on and off for six years before officially breaking up in October 2021. If these rumors with Selena are true, this would be the first time Zayn had been romantically involved with anyone in the years since.
Meanwhile, Selena was last linked with Chainsmokers’ Drew Taggart after they were seen together at a bowling alley back in January. She quickly denied the claims, though, and said in a now-deleted Instagram post that she was single.
Interestingly enough, sleuthing fans resurfaced an old clip of Selena during a red carpet interview in 2010 wherein she admitted that among all the One Direction members, the one she wouldn’t mind kissing the most was Zayn. Perhaps young crushes never do go away!
