Let’s step into a world of fantasy with this hidden gem in Samar!

An avid traveler sent us these majestic images he took at the Langun-Gobingob Caves and shared with us a few insights about his trip. The photos sparked my curiosity and I hope it will do the same for you as well.

Thank you so much, Dan Mencias (@neverbeendan on Instagram), for sharing these photos and your experience!

Google can describe in numbers how huge and vast the Langun-Gobingob Caves are but Dan and his friends, Miguel Abas and Angel Juarez, provided us with a visual example of it. Can you spot the person on the lower left side?

This shot was taken inside Langun Cave just before the end of the trail. Again, let the photo speak about how huge the cave is. Spot the person again on the lower left side! Whoa!

Dan shared that the trail was quite challenging and the rocks were dangerous. It’s definitely a necessity to have the right gears and tools. The entire trek lasted about 4 hours going back and forth but the views were worth it.

Unfortunately, Gobingob Cave was took dark to take photos of. Who knows what beauty it’s hiding there somewhere?

The three travelers pose after a memorable adventure! Behind them is the entrance to the cave. By the looks of it, the place is greatly hidden and just as Dan said, it’s not an easy place to reach. But!! That makes it more rewarding.

Some details in summary: From Calbiga, it takes about 40 minutes to get to the entrance of the caves. The trek inside takes about 4 hours back and forth and it takes another 40 minutes to get back to Calbiga. You may also opt to take the van to Tacloban which takes about 65 minutes.
