The Philippines may not have won a world cup yet, but now the country at least has a football pitch worthy of one in the shape of the artificial turf at the Rizal Memorial Stadium. The venue received the highest field certification from FIFA thanks to its new Limonta Max S Artificial Turf System, installed by Limonta’s Philippine partner, E-sports International. PSC Chair Ricardo R. Garcia was obviosuly quite happy about this and commented: “The PSC is proud to provide our Filipino athletes with a pitch that has the highest levels of quality, safety and durability. The FIFA 2-Star accreditation means that our players will be playing on a pitch that is on par with some of the world’s best football pitches. This is a great day for Philippine football.

The FIFA certification was awarded after a number of stringent field and laboratory tests and is valid for 12 months, after which it can be retested. It makes Rizal Memorial Stadium the first and only FIFA 2-Star pitch in the Philippines and represents an important step forward in the continuing growth of football in the country.
