Rihanna’s Charity Foundation donates $5 million to COVID-19 relief efforts

Rihanna is now part of the many celebrities who are taking part in fighting the COVID-19 virus.

It was reported that Rihanna’s charity foundation, the Clara Lionel Foundation, donated $5 million to COVID-19 relief efforts.

On their website, the foundation said, “When we first began this year, never could we have imagined how COVID-19 would so dramatically alter our lives. It doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from, this pandemic will affect us all. And for the world’s most vulnerable, the worst may be yet to come.”

They will be donating to different charities including Direct Relief, Feeding America, Partners in Health, The World Health Organization’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund, the International Rescue Committee, among others.

The funds will also support local food banks in the U.S. and enhanced testing in countries such as Haiti and Malawi. It will also be used to provide protective equipment for health workers and frontliners.

Reports have also said that Rihanna has also purchased $700,000 worth of ventilators for her home country.
