As an editor and content creator here at WhenInManila.com, it’s part of my work to be at events. So it’s a common scenario for me to be sitting in rides to and from my events (and we all know how long that can take), and during idle time at events like when waiting for programs to start. I like keeping myself productive, so during these times, you’ll usually find me still working on my phone–either answering emails or editing videos. I don’t like bringing a laptop with me because it can be heavy, and my thirty-something-year-old back already has enough problems to deal with. So yes, I work on my phone.
And so how happy I was when we got our hands on the new realme Pad 2–finally, a tablet that can save me from my working-from-my-small-phone miseries. Safe to say, for on-the-go working millennials like me, the realme Pad 2 is a godsend.
Let’s take a quick look at the device’s specs first.

As soon as we unboxed the device, we were impressed by the design and build. The realme Pad 2 comes in two colors: Imagination Grey and Inspiration Green. We got the latter. We instantly loved the sleek design. Only 7.2 mm, it’s pretty light and slim, adding a touch of elegance. The metallic finish, especially on the Inspiration Green, is actually quite pretty.
The display is also worth noting, at almost a foot–11.5 inches and with 2K resolution at 1200×1200 pixels. If, like me, you’re looking for a device that will help you be productive while on-the-go, this big screen on such a slim, light design is truly something to appreciate. The realme Pad 2 also features hardware-level anti-blue light for added eye protection.
Its 8,360 mAh mega battery can last you up to 59 days on standby–that’s an impressive 17 hours of video use and 190 hours of music streaming. And when you do need to charge, the realme Pad 2’s 33W SUPERVOOC Charge can power up the device back to 50% in just 55 minutes, and less than 2 hours to get back up to 100%.
For your entertainment needs, whether that’s streaming, watching Tiktok videos, or listening to music, the realme Pad 2 actually boasts Dolby Atmos Quad Speakers—yup, four speakers, two located at each side of the tablet. It sounds pretty good!
And for your photo-taking needs, the realme Pad 2 features an 8MP AI camera in the front for your selfie needs, and a 5MP rear camera. You’ll love the AI camera which allows you to pre-set beauty tools to make sure you are always selfie-ready.
Power and processor
The realme Pad 2 runs on a MediaTek Helio G99 Processor, a dedicated gaming processor that boasts flagship-tier power efficiency. In short, if you’re into games, the realme Pad 2 will have no problem handling light- to medium-level gaming.
In terms of storage and memory, you can choose between 6GB storage with 128 RAM or 8GB storage with 25g RAM.
The realme Pad 2 uses a recalibrated version of the realme UI 4.0 that’s designed specifically for tablets. Thanks to this, the interface feels more efficient, with overall good navigation. The device features a new dock design, Floating Windows, Smart Sidebar, Reading Mode, Google, Dual Window, and my favorite—the Split Screen. These navigation features, plus the realme Pad 2’s wide screen, make multi-tasking so much easier.
