Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, televangelist and founder of the homegrown Christian sect Kingdom of Jesus Christ, the Name Above Every Name or KJC, declared his responsibility in stopping the earthquake which hit Mindanao last October 29. The 6.6-magnitude earthquake affected North Cotabato and nearby areas.

A video recorded the self-titled “Appointed Son of God” sharing that he was able to stop the earthquake by yelling at it. “Noong lumindol ng 6.6 [magnitude], nandoon ako kahapon, nandoon ako sa kwarto ko, sabi ko ‘lindol stop, umi-stop’ [When the 6.6-magnitude quake hit, I was in my room, and I told it ‘stop’, and it did],” Quiboloy said.
“Pasalamat kayo sa akin kasi kung hindi ko pina-stop ‘yun, marami kayong magigiba diyan, mamamatay kayo [You should thank me because if I did not stop that earthquake then many of you would be dead),” he continued “Sinigawan ko ‘yung lindol, noong gumanon na ‘yung mga chandelier ko, ‘stop!’ sabi ko, stop kaagad (I yelled at the earthquake when I saw my chandelier shaking, ‘stop!’ I said and it stopped right away).”
Quiboloy also promised that there were witnesses who would be able to confirm his story. His statements were met with wide applause and some proclamations “amen!”
