Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-reigning British monarch, passed away on September 8, 2022 at the age of 96. The tragic news was announced at 2:30 AM of September 9, PH time.
The Queen died peacefully in her sleep at Balmoral Castle, her Scottish estate, where she had spent the recent weeks.

Queen Elizabeth II reigned over the United Kingdom for 70 years, coming to the throne in 1952. At the queen’s passing, her eldest son, now King Charles III will be ascending to the throne. He is Britain’s first king since 1952.
