As part of the organization’s mandate, POLIS-UPB organized an online summit titled “Pakasaritaan 2021: Insights on the Past, the Present, and the Prospects of the Agrarian Reform in the Philippines”. This year’s summit aims to open the discourse on Agrarian Reform in the country using the perspectives of various social disciplines.

The aim of the conference is to educate senior high school and college students about the current state of agrarian reform in the Philippines, allowing them to become critical thinkers and participate in discussions about this pressing social issue. This conference will take a broad look at Agrarian Reform, venturing into its political, historical, economic, and anthropological dimensions.

Traditionally, Pakasaritaan is an annual on-ground summit held in a selected venue in Baguio City. Because of the pandemic, last year’s summit was cancelled. This year, the summit will be held virtually for the first time.

The two-day online summit will feature four (4) speakers from different disciplines who will share their perspectives on Agrarian Reform.

The conference is free of charge. Participants are only required to register and attend the event for their certificates.
