With the power of social media, netizens can now help the Philippines reach the finals of the Global Entrepreneur Summit Tech-I competition. Representing the country in this global competition is Sari Software Solutions, a technology startup that aims to help small sari-sari store owners improve their business through financial literacy.
Sari’s goal is to develop an app that will help store owners manage and keep track of their store sales using only a mobile device. Sari believes that by improving the sari-sari store business, it will also have a positive effect on the millions of Filipinos who rely on sari-sari stores for their daily needs.
Over 70 participants from 37 countries are joining the Tech-I competition. The top 30 candidates will then proceed to enter the global finals which will be held in Kenya. At stake for the winners are training and mentorship with successful entrepreneurs, networking opportunities, and access to as much as $15,000 seed money.
