Filipino celebrities took to social media to mourn the death of veteran actor Eddie Garcia, who passed away on June 20,ย Thursday at 4:55 p.m. after he suffered a severe neck injury while taping that left him in a critical comatose state for nearly two weeks. He was 90 years old.

Eddie Garcia leaves behind a legacy of working 70 years in Philippine showbiz, taking part in more than 600 films and television series as both an actor and a director. His last triumph was taking home the title of Best Actor in independent filmย MLย in the recently concluded 2019 Gawad Urian Awards, a few days before his death.
