Philippines Sees Biggest One-Day Increase in COVID-19 Cases with 82 New Cases

The Department of Health just announced 82 new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients this March 23, Monday. This brings the total number of cases within the Philippines to 462.

This has been the largest single-day increase in COVID-19 cases so far.

The DOH also reported a total of 33 deaths and 18 recoveries, as of 4 p.m. of March 23.

Yesterday’s total number of cases stood at 380 with a total of 25 fatalities and 15 recoveries recorded.

On March 17, President Rodrigo Duterte placed Luzon under an enhanced community quarantine to contain the spread of the virus. Employees were encouraged to work from home and public transportation was suspended.
