The Philippines made its mark once again on the regional stage after taking home two awards at this year’s Asian Academy Creative Awards (AACA), held at the historic Capitol Theatre in Singapore.
Among the major recognitions was a big win for Dennis Trillo, who earned Best Actor in a Leading Role for Green Bones, along with a second award for Best Adaptation of an Existing Format for Saving Grace.

The night was filled with tight races and surprise victories across Asia-Pacific, with 11 nations and territories scoring wins across 40 categories.
Chinese Mainland dominated the scripted categories, taking home Best Feature Film for MuMu and Best Drama Series for Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty: To The West, edging out Korea’s When Life Gives You Tangerines by just 0.06 points—one of the closest margins of the evening.
Japan also had a standout showing. Actress Yuriyan Retriever from The Queen of Villains won Best Actress in a Leading Role, outperforming nominees like Australia’s Cate Blanchett and Korea’s Minha Kim. The same series also picked up Best Direction (Fiction).
Meanwhile, Singapore celebrated a historic moment as nine-year-old Ivory Chia became the youngest winner in AACA history after securing Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Emerald Hill: The Little Nonya Story.
Prime Video’s The Traitors India and Netflix’s Black Warrant both brought home two awards each, including a win for Karan Johar as Best Entertainment Host. South Korea celebrated victories in Best Comedy, Best General Entertainment for the MAMA Awards, and Best Original Production by a Streamer for Study Group.
Documentary categories proved to be another tight battleground, with wins going to Australia (In Films), Japan (NHK), and Singapore (Mediacorp). India’s Amish Tripathi secured Best Factual Host for his work with Warner Bros. Discovery.
