These Philippine Flag-Inspired Basketball Shoes Will Elevate Your Gameplay and Style

Houston Rockets shooting guard Jalen Green is one of the few NBA players of Filipino descent and was the second overall pick in the NBA Draft 2021. With his continued success in the league, he remains true to his Filipino heritage through adidas’ special edition BYW Select ‘Jalen Green Philippines ID’. Having been to the Philippines multiple times in recent years, the shoes symbolize his Filipino heritage and culture.

Specially released on Philippine Independence Day, adidas Philippines alongside basketball specialty concept store TITAN also celebrated young talents with the Araw Cup tournament wherein young local athletes wore the adidas BYW Select ‘Jalen Green Philippines ID’.

The Araw Cup tournament was held last June 12, coinciding with Independence Day, at the NBA Community Court located in Mandaluyong.

The BYW Select ‘Jalen Green Philippines ID’ is inspired by the Philippine flag, featuring the color combination of Vivid Red, Royal Blue, Cloud White, and Yellow elements.

Both the left and right shoe have mismatched uppers to pay respect to the national flag, while the logo and lacing are in reversed colors on the pair. White accents are seen on the heel and sockliner and the BOOST midsole has a pop of yellow.

The special edition shoes also include velcro patches that allow all to mix and match with the two Jeepney and two Three Stripes logos.

Jalen Green’s name is also embedded on the back of the shoe’s pull tab in color contrasts with the upper of each individual pair.

Lastly, the shoes are also engineered with the Lightstrike cushioning and BOOST that allows users to feel comfortable and returns energy with every step taken.

The Jalen Green Philippines ID shoes can be purchased in-store and are also available for online purchase at for PHP 8,500.
