Juicy Steaks, Beef Pepper Steaks, Sizzling Steaks, and More Awesome Lunch Dishes at Pepper Lunch!
ย
When in Manila and tired of going to the usual restaurants for lunch breaks, head over to Pepper Lunch!
ย
ย
Pepper Lunch, Pepper Lunch!ย
(In a tune you most likely know hahaha)

ย
Pepper Lunch Shangri-Laย
ย
ย
Founded in 1994 by Mr. Kunio Ichinose, Pepper Lunch was conceptualized as a “fast steak” restaurant. His goal? To “serve quality fast food without the need to train a chef for years”.
ย
Pepper Lunch has been around since 2008 here in the Philippines. They opened their first outlet in Power Plant, and have opened several others after that, including their Shangri-La branch and some Pepper Express stores.
ย
ย
These happy employees wrote a “traditional” birthday card to Mr. Ichiose on his last birthday, several weeks ago. They even snail mailed it all the way to Japan!

menu to our common friends in UA&P”
ย
ย
Pepper Lunch is famous for their Pepper Rice dishes, such as Beef Pepper Rice (their best seller) and Curry Beef Pepper Rice. They also serve premium beef steaks, sukiyaki, and teriyaki. Of course, everything is served on their famous sizzling plate! You see, Pepper Lunch serves their steaks uncooked on a sizzling plate (260 degrees Celsius, baby!), giving the very fun cooking experience to their guests.
ย
Fellow WIM writer, Charmaine Cabugnason, and I visited Pepper Lunch Shangri-La last Thursday to check their original menu before they revamp it. Yup! Pepper Lunch will be revamping their menu to have an option for bigger servings, accommodate the requests of their fans (fun fact: Pepper Lunch has lots of fans who frequent their restaurant), and to drop their prices. When you see their new menu, I bet you would have no other words other than, “WOW“!

Scha-zah! Awesome lunch from Pepper Lunch!
ย
ย
Mimai and I were both giddy when our sizzling sizzling plates were served! We had to turn our steaks fast (we both wanted our steaks medium well) so it won’t burn. With chopsticks at hand and an overly excited appetite, we tried our (still) very hot premium steaks. It was beef and pepper heaven!ย The meat was marbled (making it soft and juicy) and didn’t taste like blood, the pepper wasn’t overpowering, and it cooked just well. It flattered our taste buds just right. Our meal was also very heavy we almost couldn’t finish our plate!
ย
However, like what they always say, there’s always room for dessert ๐ We just couldn’t say no to their matcha ice cream!
ย
ย
For a tea lover, I find their matcha ice cream adorable.
ย
ย
They also reward their fans with a Pepper Lover’s Card – every PhP20 earns you ย a point, which you can use for purchasing meals
ย
ย
Be sure to drop by Pepper Lunchย When in Manila to check their new menu items, which will be available starting… Secret surprise! Hahaha. They haven’t officially announced it yet, but from what I’ve heard from the lines there will be sizzling curries and tepan pastas.
I hope you’ll enjoy your Pepper Lunch lunch as much as we did, friends and countrymen!
